Miggy Ball 24, the initiative by the Miguel Cabrera Foundation targeted for kids 8 to 10 years old will be launched in the USA this year.

After 3 years of successful implementation in the main cities in Venezuela and reaching more than 1.600 kids, now the cities of Miami, Orlando, Tampa, Lakeland and Detroit will be the next stops for the innovative program.

Miggy Ball 24 is the main strategy for the Miguel Cabrera Foundation, where kids are exposed to the 5 basic tools in baseball in a recreational manner.

This is not a try-out, it is a competition/baseball clinic, where kids display their abilities to throw, fielding, hitting ability, hitting for power and speed, using large billboards to measure throw accuracy, batting tees to guarantee equality and small targets to measure travelling distance of the ball.

The kids are evaluated in 5 stations and the finalist are selected from the same age group to participate in a grand finale by region.

A key point for the event is the presence of Miguel Cabrera in the finale, where all the qualified players have the opportunity to meet, spend time and learn from the Venezuelan player.

Understanding his commitment to young baseball players, Cabrera decided to launch the event in USA, giving the opportunity for kids from different cities in the United States.

The tentative dates for the event are: December 2017 and January 2018 in Pembroke Pines and Doral, February-March 2018 in Orlando, Tampa and Lakeland (Spring Training home of the Detroit Tigers).

The big news is that the Detroit Tigers Foundation, not only approved the event, but has agreed to hold the Grand Finale for the city of Detroit at Comerica Park (home of the Detroit Tigers) in June 2018, which will be greatly motivational for the participants and their families. In the upcoming weeks we will publish more details in our website:
